Why I charge for my products
If you are like me and you are looking around on a website you check out 2 things:

Let’s be 100 % transparent, yes and yes, but only if it benefits you.
I am the real deal, I have been writing about organising and decluttering for years when my kids were tiny (they are now teens and one in particlular is bigger than me).
While we are talking about being real. My house is not always perfectly organised. It’s the usual things; life, kids, getting stuck into projects and forgetting my desk has become a chaotic creative mess.
Setting up the website
A long, long time ago. It would have been in 2012 I set up a website, it went alright in terms of having people know who the organising lady was. I got a number of clients but if you could the amount of time, effort went into that site and business I probably have gotten paid $-50,- an hour (yes minus).
So since 2012 I also worked to pay the bills. Somewhat unexpectedly, I went onto have a wonderful career which to this day, I still, very much enjoy. I worked in teaching, creating online courses, in the entrepreneurial space and more recently in the rollout of a big government program. It is super enjoyable and my job has paid the bills for years now.
Why am I still here
Somehow during the last 10 years, I could not give up my organising website even though financially it did not make sense to keep it all these years. It was and always will be my labour of love.
So here we are. I am passionate about helping people declutter and organise their homes, I have learned, taught, and unpacked this material for years and through this created books and online courses (it comes in handy if you have been an online course designer in the past).
I met amazing people who helped me along the way and the skills of running a small business keep on giving hundredfold now and in the future I expect.
In 2022 it was time for a complete relaunch of the site, making sure the world could start using these amazing materials to declutter and get organised. Always in the hope, it would improve people’s homes and their lives.
Dream and reality
Part of me would like to be like Mr. Money Mustache giving everything away for free.
But, I charge to cover the cost of running my business (there are a few expenses I can assure you). I am more like Jesse Mecham from YNAB. We have a small team that helps with marketing, website design, SEO, social media, and communications. This work and the topic of organising is something I am passionate about, over the years it has given me back so much in terms of skills, fulfillment and overall learning.
I pride myself on the products being affordable, through these small fees it means that maybe one day I make some of the money back I invested in this amazing process over years of diligent work – my long-term accountant would be pleased.
