Organise and Energise: Taskercising Burn Calories While Decluttering and Cleaning Your Space
I have been trying something new; "taskercising" it is coined by Carolyn Barnes who has written the book cLean Momma. She found a way to do exercise whilst cleaning the house. The main target market for this is clearly; busy working mums, who would like to go to the gym, but also want to have a clean house and still spend time with their children.
Taskercising simply combine cleaning and exercise
Cleaning and exercise fit nicely with organising as it falls under maintenance. You can't clean or organise your house once a year and hope it will be okay or go running once a year and expect to be fit. They are the laws of nature we are bound by - we get out what we put in and regular maintenance is the key here.
How does taskercising work?
The way taskercising works is as follows; you are in the kitchen for example and as you are unloading the dishwasher you do some squats. You can use lunges as you step through the house or do the vacuuming, you can skate your way through the house with clean damp rags (shinning that floor). You can even do some push ups as you are waiting for the microwave to finish. I found laundry is a great way for stretching and ab exercises could be incorporated when folding or doing paperwork.
Taskercising results
Although it looks a bit different, I am very surprised about the level of exercise you can get by actively doing your housework. It makes me feel less guilty for not going to the gym and not having everything nice and tidy at home (seeing it is now all combined into one taskercise). My floors are sparkling, and there is hardly anything to do on the weekend, as all was done during the week. And my abbs, I hope they are coming along but that might be a discussion for another time.
