Organise your safe space
For this article, I had to think about our concept of home. I think home is something that doesn’t matter exactly as to where it is. But it should be a place where we can make memories and a place where we can truly relax.
Organise a safe space for your children
Years ago, during a challenging time, I gave my children both a little tent to play with. It was small but for both of them it was their sacred space and it struck me how important organising a safe space for your children really is. Somehow as humans, if we don’t have that spot to hang, relax, do nothing, or just be we are missing out on an important opportunity to relax and rewind the spirit.
Organise a safe space for your you
This week I would like to urge you to create a special safe space for you and use it. This could be a chair, a room, or a desk space. It should be only for you without having to share it with others. It should be clean, and relaxing and have the items at hand that make you feel at home and comfortable. For me, this place is my new lounge. I can hang on it, relax, and stare at the ceiling but also write on it, read, and sit next to the heather with a warm beverage. Just a few minutes of sitting down makes me more relaxed and recharged than sitting anywhere else and it is simply magic.
Organise a safe space that looks and feels good
To get a place like this, pick something comfortable, pick your colours, make sure you look out for something that is not cluttered, and have your overall sacred place neat and tidy. It doesn’t matter that the kitchen, the laundry, or the garage are a mess as long as this little place is free from clutter and can help you to relax your mind. Whatever progress you make in regards to the overall decluttering of your house, if you have this spot to sit and relax, you have a basis and starting point meaning that you will get there.
