Do you have the right organising supplies?
Recently, I wrote about my dislike for cooking and the different things that can be done to help you get organised with cooking. Since then I have bought a good cooking knife and am contemplating investing in some new pans which made this week’s cooking a lot easier and more pleasant. This all leads us to another thought, namely that you need to have the right tools to do a job well, including organising.
What are the right organising supplies?
As with many things, this applies to getting organised as well. You can of course pile items together and use some crude boxes or bags but in order to get really organised you do need some good tools. Here is a list of some really good basic items to start if you want to get organised:
Post it's, - they show categories
Blue tag for bigger notes
Scissors
Sticky tape
A label maker
Bin bags
A large bin (you’ll need it)
A good vacuum
Cloths and water (clean as you go!)
The right organising supplies depending on what you organise
On top of this, you will need for each particular area a well-thought-out list of supplies depending on the space that you are organising and your style when keeping spaces organised. Specific supplies could include: boxes, shelving, or storage containers for bigger spaces in the house and it could include file holders or stands for the paperwork areas.
Why buy more when you are trying to declutter?
Buying tools for organising is really a catch 22 you need new items to get rid of and organise the items you already have, but you don't want to add to the clutter. So be careful when purchasing new tools, make sure you try them and that they are plenty full in the shops so it will be easy to add to it when the tools work. The moral of this article, boils down to the idea that spending time and some money on good quality tools and things that work for you, will help make organising and staying organised a breeze.
